MANILA - Talent manager Annabelle Rama, mother of television host-actress Ruffa Gutierrez, and actor John Lloyd Cruz are now “okay.”

Ruffa and her father, actor Eddie Gutierrez, made this statement on “The Buzz” Sunday. Ruffa added that her mother was “never mad” at Cruz in the first place.

“They're okay. Akala ng mga tao galit ang mommy ko kay John Lloyd. She was never mad naman,” Ruffa said.

Cruz's camp and the Gutierrezes recently had a dinner at the height of the break-up controversy involving the young actor and his former girlfriend, stylist Liz Uy.

“They were sitting together - Annabelle and John Lloyd - and they were talking. Mukhang okay na sila,” said Eddie.

Eddie said during that dinner his impression of the young actor was that he “is a very nice person.”

He said he also observed that the friendship between Cruz, known as Lloydie, and Ruffa is “deep.”

It would be recalled that Rama challenged Cruz to be a man and publicly admit his true feelings for her daughter amid his denial that there was something going on between him and the actress.

Recently, Rama and daughter had a dispute reportedly due to Ruffa’s unidentified younger suitor, who is believed to be Cruz.

Ruffa has been rumored to be the reason behind the break-up between Cruz and stylist Liz Uy but this allegation was denied by both actors.

Ruffa and Cruz were co-stars on the now defunct “I Love Betty La Fea.”

It’s beyond pain

“I think what I felt was beyond pain.”

Meantime, this was how the young actor described his feelings when he and Uy broke up.

“Imagine saying goodbye to the most beautiful, to the most influential [woman]… there’s so many words na pwede kong gamitin to describe her or what we had. Imagine saying goodbye to all of those things. Kahit sinong tao will find it very difficult [to forget her],” Cruz told “The Buzz” in an exclusive interview.

The “I Love Betty La Fea” actor said it was something that he did not want to happen but he stressed that when they parted Ruffa and singer-actress Sarah Geronimo had nothing to do with the split.

“Alam namin kung ano ang totoong rason at mamamatay ako at mamamatay siya na alam namin ang totoong rason,” he said.

Cruz has already apologized to Geronimo whose family reportedly got upset and affected after her name was dragged into the issue.

On Ruffa, meanwhile, Cruz said it is hard not to like the television host since she is “very intelligent.”

He, however, was quick to add that his break-up with Uy is “still fresh” and that it is unlikely of him to immediately jump into another relationship.

Cruz and Ruffa are both celebrating their birthdays on June 24.

JLC not Arrogant nor A Stalker

i'm sorry but you didn't get the gist of his explanation, i think what he meant in my opinion was, you have no control over of who you falls in love with, it can hit you anytime, It can happen when you least expected, regardless of the looks, age, position in life and etc. I might be wrong with my interpretation,I'm just defending him coz i really think he's a very nice guy. Watched the Buzz yesterday, Kris AQuino was very annoying in regards to rufa and John Lloyd, there's nothing between those two, John Lloyd already made it very clear! Pls. stop... still like you, i think you are intelligent and a very good host that the industry ever produced

John Lloyd Cruz

John Lloyd Cruz, stop repeating yourself about this "when a person falls in love crap"!!!

What the hell are he saying that just because John Lloyd Cruz falls in love with you that you just cannot resist?

It doesn't matter if I am not attractive to him!! That is so arrogant!

He sounds like a stalker demanding to be loved back just because he wants you!

Also, can you stop this JL and Ruffa things it's disgusting!!!
