MANILA - Comedian and birthday celebrant Ryan Bang opened "It's Showtime" on Saturday with an energetic K-pop-inspired dance number that had the studio audience shrieking throughout his performance.

The now 23-year-old, whose actual birthday was on June 16, danced to a mix of Korean hits, while wearing a bright white outfit akin to the fashion trend made popular by the South Koreans.

"Isa lang ang masasabi ko lang, ang gwapo gwapo mo. Parang pumayat si Psy," co-host Billy Crawford said, referring to the "Gangnam Style" hit-maker.

After his performance, the other members of the "It's Showtime" family went on and took turns in sharing stories of the Bang's kindness. To which he replied: "Sobrang mabait sa akin si Lord."

"Noong una galit nga ako sa kanya dahil hindi ko alam kung bakit ako nandito sa Philippines, pero 'yun pala may dahilan. Binigyan niya ako ng regalo, gusto niya pasayahin ko mga tao, mga Pilipino."

"Ang dami niyang binigay sa akin tulad ninyo...pamilya," he said to his co-hosts. "Hindi na ako malungkot kaya nagpapasalamat talaga ako. At least masaya ako tatlong oras, araw araw."

Bang also sent his well-wishes to his mother in South Korea, whom he revealed is sick. 'Yung totoo lang. Gusto ko umuwi sa Korea kasi may sakit mommy ko," an emotional Bang said.

"Kaya mommy get well soon. Sana po isama niyo sa prayer mommy ko na gumaling siya agad. Mommy, I love you so much," he added.

To end Bang's birthday celebration on a high note, the noontime program also aired a recorded video message from other co-hosts Vhong Navarro and Vice Ganda. It also included messages from his mother, Shin Myung Ja, and Alex Gonzaga.
