MANILA -- Ranty Portento, the 26-year-old seaman from Quezon province, has been evicted from the "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) house.

In the reality show's live eviction night on Saturday, Portento, dubbed the "Maginoong Marino ng Quezon," became the sixth housemate to be eliminated from the competition.

Shortly after the announcement, Portento was quick to distance himself from the other housemates to the surprise of the others, who shouted for him to come back. "Ayaw ko. Inaasahan ko nanaman 'to," he said.

Before leaving the PBB House, his fellow housemate Joshua Garcia rushed to give the oldest contestant of this season a goodbye hug.

"Masakit po kasi. Pero ayun nga, hindi ako agad pinapasok sa confession room kasi nga po mabigat sa akin na maiwan sila pero mas mabigat naman sa akin na makikita ko 'yung mga alaga ko kung baga," he said, when asked on why he ran towards the confession room.

In a past episode, Portento purposefully threw away a challenge for Garcia, who was automatically saved from nomination that week. He was later saved by the viewers, who voted Aina Solano out of the competition.

Asked what has changed in him after his PBB experience, he said: "Mas matapang at mas may confidence po."

"Dito ko nakuha 'yun. Tsaka alam ko na sarili ko na mayroon akong mapagmamalaki. Mas matapang na Ranty ang lalabas sa bahay ninyo po," he added.

Meanwhile, celebrity teen housemate Jane Oneiza was the first one to be saved this week after garnering a total of 45.40% of the votes from the viewers.

Other housemates -- Garcia, Loisa Andalio, former De La Salle volleyball player Michelle Gumabao, and Jayme Jalandoni -- are still in danger of elimination. The second and third evictee of the week will be revealed on Sunday.

Moments after Saturday's episode, the phrase "Why Ranty" was among the top trending topics on Twitter worldwide, along with the show's official hashtag "#PBB5thEviction."

Thousands of netizens disapproved of the result, despite Fortento garnering the lowest percentage of votes at 5.8%.

Other phrases related to the show such as "Congrats Jane," "Jane is for Axel," "Tuloy Laway," and "#PBBLaway" were also among the trending topics on the microblogging site Saturday night.
