MANILA - Actor John Lloyd Cruz said he is happy that all is well now between him and Ruffa Gutierrez’s mother, talent manager Annabelle Rama.

Cruz confirmed that he and Johnny Manahan, head of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, visited the Gutierrezes at their Makati City home last June 17 to talk “work-related” matters mostly.

"Natutuwa ako na na meet ko na sila finally,” he said.

The actor, who is turning 26 on June 24, said the dinner took place after he attended his birthday press conference.
 
“Noong paalis kami, jokingly tinanong niya (Rama) ako, ‘totoo ba 'yong balita na kayo na ng anak ko?' Sabi ko, 'Tita, hindi po, hindi po.’ Tapos sabi ko kay Ruffa, 'Ruffa, mommy mo, oh,’" he shared.

It would be recalled that Rama challenged Cruz to be a man and publicly admit his true feelings for her daughter amid his denial that there was something going on between him and the actress.

Recently, Rama and daughter had a dispute reportedly due to Ruffa’s unidentified younger suitor, who is believed to be Cruz.

Ruffa has been rumored to be the reason behind the break-up between Cruz and stylist Liz Uy but this allegation was denied by both actors.
