Sharon plays Chinese matriarch in 'Mano Po 6'
MANILA - Megastar Sharon Cuneta finally gave her "yes" to do a film, "Mano Po 6: My Mother," for Lily Monteverde's Regal Films.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Monteverde said that it is a dream come true for her to have Cuneta in one of her films.
"Talagang 'yan ang dream ko na before I retire, I really want to get her. 'Yan ang talagang dream ko way back 25 years ago," the producer said.
Fondly called "Mother Lily," Monteverde also confirmed that multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan will direct the upcoming film that might be one of Regal's official entries to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
"Talagang I'm so happy na she said yes to me. I feel so excited that Megastar will work for Regal Films," the veteran film producer added.
According to Monteverde, the newest "Mano Po" will be a story of a mother who will do anything just to get back her daughter.
When asked who would be Cuneta's daughter in the upcoming "Mano Po" film, the producer carefully replied: "Sino ang anak? We have to see. Siguro, in two weeks, we will let you know."
This early, speculations are rife that one of the country's young stars like Kim Chiu, Marian Rivera, Carla Avellana and Angel Locsin might get the role of the Megastar's daughter in Mano Po 6.
Monteverde, who has produced four "Mano Po" films, said "Mano Po 6" with Cuneta will be shot in Thailand.
Cuneta will also have to study how to speak Chinese.
Cuneta, who was in United States for almost a month for her Megathirty Concert, last appeared in the Star Cinema comedy film, "Best Friends Forever" with Comedy Queen Ai Ai delas Alas.

first comes first that includes the background of the ONE who will play the role in terms of QUALITY ACTING REWARDS ACHIEVEMENTS AND RECOGNITIONS. mOST important is that she will be able to act well in a spontaneous manner/way.
We know for certain that marian can act different personality like in DRAMA COMEDY HORROR AND SUSPENSE, since what u are trying to portray or show is a ANAK, a bad girl, MARIAN FITS THE ROLE, IN ALL ANGLES MARIAN CAN DIVERT OR CHANGE HER BEING AS TO WHAT PEOPLE EXPECT FROM HER I HOPE THAT THE DIRECTOR OF THIS MOVIE WILL CHOOSE HER AND COME TO REALIZE THIS AND I HOPE MARIAN WILL BE CHOSEN.
