Pacquiao joins Pinoys in praying for Dolphy
MANILA, Philippines – Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has joined the nation in praying for the speedy recovery of Comedy King Dolphy.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News before he left for his Europe vacation with his family on Sunday, Pacquiao said he is always behind Dolphy and he will pray for the comedian.
“Nagdadasal kami para sa 'yo. Nandito kami sa likod mo nagdadasal at laging nakasuporta. Ipaubaya natin sa mahal na Panginoon ang kagustuhan niya,” he said.
Doplhy’s son Eric Quizon on Sunday said his father’s condition continues to improve.
Quizon said his dad had a tracheostomy Saturday night “to alleviate from a lot of discomfort and make it easier for his organs to perform properly.”
A tracheostomy is a surgically created opening in the neck leading to the trachea to safely deliver oxygen to the lungs.
"Mas madalas siyang awake ngayon. Mas madalas siyang nakadilat, mas responsive... Ang importante ay he’s getting better, he’s getting all the rest that he can. Sana magpatuloy siya, maski na dahan-dahan ang progress," he said.
Dolphy also underwent his third dialysis early yesterday.
