James Yap prefers live-in partner, for now
MANILA, Philippines – Following his much-publicized separation from Kris Aquino this year, star cager James Yap revealed he does not intend to get married again in the near future.
In an exclusive interview with Ces Drilon for “Pipol,” which aired on Monday night, Yap said he’d rather have a “live in” partner.
May iba iba naman tayong pag-iisip eh,” he said.
What prompted him to think this way, he said, was the "traumatic" long process of annulment that he had with Aquino.
Yap, however, clarified that he is not living with someone right now.
The professional basketball player also belied rumors romantically linking him to actress Isabel Oli.
“Si Isabel, kaibigan lang talaga iyon. Kaibigan ko lang talaga. Close friend ko kasi parehas kami ng dialect so nagkakasundo kami. More than that, wala na talaga. Hindi girlfriend,” he said.
Yap said he is in not in a hurry to get into another relationship. For now, he chooses to enjoy his bachelorhood and fatherhood.
After that single ako ngayon. Darating din iyon,” he said.
Although he has no plans of tying the knot again soon, Yap said he wants his son James Jr. or Bimby to have a brother or a sister.
“Siyempre. Ang bata ko pa, 30 pa lang ako. Mayroon diyan, mayroong darating. Hindi ako naghahanap,” he said.
