Daniella on aunt Claudine: She's family
MANILA – Daniella Barretto, the eldest daughter of Marjorie Barretto, is now playing a different tune when she was asked about her aunt Claudine a month after they got involved in a controversy.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News and other reporters on Saturday, Daniella said she has already moved on from what happened in the past and it would be best to just leave negative issues behind.
“I’m fine. It’s behind me na. Kung ano yung nangyari in the past few weeks, months, I’ve moved on. I’m fine,” she said.
Asked if she has already found forgiveness in her heart despite Claudine calling her “ungrateful,” Daniella said: “Pinalaki ako nang maayos ng mommy ko and pinalaki kami to be open to those kinds of things and she’s family. She’s family.”
While she remains hopeful that her mom and aunts Claudine and Gretchen would eventually reconcile, Daniella said only God knows when it will happen.
‘We were once naman din a happy family. Siyempre it crosses my mind. Pamilya kayo eh. It’s not naman you wish bad things to happen to your family. Yes, of course, I think about that too,” she said.
“I guess right now, walang key. Timing talaga yan. In God’s perfect time. No one in our family can really tell, hindi naman namin mape-predict na okay, magkakaayos tomorrow or next year. Ipagdasal na lang na sana soon,” she added.
Daniella said she is still hoping they could all bounce back from this issue and come out strong.
“I guess [I’m hoping na] mag-iba naman ulit yung tingin ng tao sa family namin na when they hear the name Barretto, sana naman good things na ulit yung lumabas. Sana puro si Julia, achievements na lang niya yung lumabas. Huwag na lang yung controversy,” she said.
Amid their ongoing family feud, Daniella admitted she misses the times when they would all gather and have fun like a normal happy family.
“Siyempre naman sino naman ang hindi makaka-miss sa [reunion]. Kitang-kita niyo naman how close we are before ‘di ba? Siyempre nakaka-miss din,” she said.
