This after it was reported last week that Dolphy may already be taken out of the ICU and transferred to a regular room possibly today or on Tuesday.
In a statement released Monday afternoon, the Quizon family said Dolphy’s health remains relatively unchanged with all his vital organs functioning properly.
The family said Dolphy has been responding well to treatment and he is slowly being weaned off from his medication.
The veteran actor’s kidneys, however, is still performing below its normal capacity, while his platelet count remains low.
The family said Dolphy “continues to be lucid and responsive to communication and interaction” but still cannot speak because of the tube in his neck, which helps him breathe.
“He was given some rest over the weekend to be able to recuperate. Blood transfusion and dialysis will resume today,” the family said.
The Quizon family also thanked everyone for the continued prayers for the 83-year-old comedian.
