MANILA, Philippines - While Carmen Soo admitted that she enjoys being one of the co-hosts of “Wowowee,” she said it’s not an easy job, particularly learning Tagalog.

“It’s my first hosting job [and I am] still learning, but the hardest thing is the Tagalog,” she shared. “So many things [to consider]… remembering lines, especially for me, trying to understand what’s being said in Tagalog and just like running around, you have to catch up, you can’t delay.”

But in general, she is thankful for the opportunity because it keeps her on her toes. “It’s really good experience. It’s like doing theater. Everyday is different [because] you need a lot of energy and motivation for yourself. And every time you have an audience member, you don’t know what their reaction will be like.”

The Malaysian actress also revealed: “Even me, I don’t know until when I will be in Wowowee. When the new hosts (Kelly Misa, Jed Montero, Isabelle Abiera, and herself) started, we will just be a part of it for a certain period of time, just for whether it’s for training us or to lend a different vibe to the show. We’re just like guest hosts like the male guest hosts sort of.”

Nevertheless, she stressed that she is simply grateful for the project because aside from being her first real hosting stint, she was able to gain friends.

In line with Soo’s revelations, there have been rumors circulating that “Wowowee” will soon go off air. It will supposedly be replaced by 2 programs that will be hosted by Kris Aquino and Robin Padilla separately. But ABS-CBN has not yet made any announcement to confirm or deny these speculations.
