MANILA, Philippines – Former sexy actress Divina Valencia is set to make her television comeback via a new Kapamilya daytime series.
Valencia, who was popular in the 60's for her sexy roles in films, joins the cast of "Prime-Tanghali" soap "Be Careful With My Heart."
Introduced as a sexy actress in the Jess Lapid-starrer "Kardong Kidlat" in 1964, Valencia went on become a favorite leading lady of big-name film actors at the time, including Fernando Poe Jr., Joseph "Erap" Estrada, and comedy king Dolphy.
Valencia would outgrow her "bomba" image in the late 60's and eventually took on dramatic and challenging roles in films such as "Sidra" and "Vengadora."

Her latest role on television is no less challenging, as she is set to play a "deaf grandmother" in the new Kapamilya series, which premieres on July 9 before noontime variety program "It's Showtime."
"Maraming, maraming salamat sa pagkakataon na binigay ng ABS-CBN para magampanan ko [ito], at gagawin ko lahat ng aking makakaya para magawa ko ang isang lolang bingi na tatawa ang tao 'pag nanood sila," Valencia said during the recent press conference for the show.
Directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Rechie Del Carmen, "Be Careful With My Heart" also stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, Mutya Orquia, Aiza Seguerra and Sylvia Sanchez.
