Ogie Alcasid busy with newest album 'Filipino Song Book'

Singer-composer Ogie Alcasid celebrates his 20th year in showbiz by promoting his newest album entitled "Ogie Alcasid: The Great Filipino Song Book."


Alcasid said that he produced the album with Universal Records.


"Wala kang itatapon sa mga kanta (sa bagong album) itong mga kanta ni George Canseco at Rey Valera at itong (carrier single) na 'Kung Sakali' ay isinulat ni Vic Sotto," Alcasid said.


Also included in Alcasid's latest album are the hits "Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin," "Kahit Na," "Kung Tayo ay Magkakalayo," "Ngayon," "May Minamahal," "Bawat Sandali," "Doon," "Nais Ko," "Bato Sa Buhangin," "Handog" "Kailangan Kita," "Sana Ika Na Nga," "Yakapin Mo Ako," "Malayo Pa Ang Umaga," and "May Bukas Pa".


Alcasid said that his album is also a tribute to all OPM composers and singers.


"Lahat po yan ay Tagalog, dapat ipagmalaki natin sa buong mundo kung gaano kaganda ang ating musika," the singer said.


Alcasid composed the theme song for ABS-CBN's biggest and most expensive television series "Lobo" entitled "Ikaw Ang Pangarap", which was performed by Martin Nievera.



To promote his album, Alcasid will be busy with mall shows. He will also be having a major concert on September 27th for his 20th anniversary in showbiz.
