Kris: 'No deal' to James' wish to reunite
MANILA, Philippines - TV host and presidential sister Kris Aquino is firm about her decision not to reunite anymore with husband, basketball star James Yap.
This was revealed to ABS-CBN News by Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, the law firm retained by Kris.
According to a source at the firm, it is clear that the rift in the marital relationship of Kris and James can no longer be healed.
Kris has decided to end her ties with James, and in fact, has asked the law firm to start legal proceedings.
Kris's lawyers are still working on her official statement, which will be read on the TV show "The Buzz" on ABS-CBN on Sunday.
The TV host quietly left last night for the US with sons Joshua and Baby James for a three-week vacation in Orlando, Florida.
"We're going to take a Disney cruise then go to Disneyworld. I think they are very excited. We're looking forward to the vacation," said Kris, when interviewed by ABS-CBN North America News Bureau in Los Angeles, California before leaving for Orlando.
Kris and her sons are excited at the thought of bonding together, more so since this is Baby James' first time in Disneyworld.
Absent at SONA
Kris will not be back in time for the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of her brother, President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on July 26.
But they will be back in time for the first death anniversary of her mother, the late President Corazon Aquino, on August 1.
"No, we won't be there but we'll be back in time for our mom's first death anniversary," she said.
She refused to talk about James and said her lawyers will attend to the details.
Viel Aquino-Dee, Kris's sister, asked for prayers for Kris and James.
"Let us give Kris and James some peace and quiet. Please pray for them and their family as they go through this trial," said Viel.
James, who is with B-Meg Derby Ace, is currently busy practicing for the PBA quarter finals against Rain or Shine. Asked what he thinks about his personal problem, he replied, "Focused lang, focus."
According to James, Kris's vacation with the kids had long been planned, even before news about their separation broke.
James's brother Jojo, meanwhile, is supportive of James's decision to save his marriage with Kris.
Relatives and close friends of Kris and James are appealing to the public to stop speculating on the reason why the couple broke up, for the sake of the two kids who are the most affected in the turn of events. -- Report from Jing Castañeda, ABS-CBN News

She is letting people speculate dahil gusto nya lagi pa rin syang pag-usapan kahit wala na syang masyadong mga shows. She is a nuissance sa Aquino family, eversince gusto nya sya lagi sentro ng attention. Pasalamat nga sya dahil pinakasalan pa rin sya ni James kahit nababoy na sya nung dalawang lalaki na nauna sa kanya. At di ba me STD pa sya na nahawa galing ke Joey Marquez? Di kaya nahawa rin si James sa kanya? Masyado na syang power tripping - dapat mag-isip ang mga company na sya ang endorser, hindi sya magandang image para dito. kris, i fully understand your plight. it would be good for you, your family and your brother noynoy if you just shy away from media. you'll be given more respect if you don't say more than you already did, even through your lawyers. whether you like it or not, publicity about your life will affect the entire nation with your brother sitting as the highest official of the land. be praying for you.
