Singer Aiza Seguerra won a million pesos for a second time on Thursday, after retaining the championship at ABS-CBN's  "The Singing Bee", a game show that pits contestants against each other in guessing correctly a song's lyrics. Seguerra's total winnings now amount to P2,080,000.

Seguerra had a difficult time in the final round against her challenger, studio contestant Jinky.  Both of them missed the lyrics to the final line-up of songs, including hits made popular by Donna Summer and Jose Mari Chan.

With time running out, "Singing Bee" host Cesar Montano declared that Jinky would no longer be able to catch up with Seguerra on points--Seguerra therefore remained the "Singing Bee" champion, taking home P1,040,000.

Just the night before, the singer had already won a million pesos and forty-thousand pesos.

A former child star, Seguerra reigned as the show’s champion for three nights in a row, before she went on to win the million-peso prize on Wednesday, July 9, after she filled in the missing lyrics of five songs.

Seguerra got the chance to be next the show's winner after singer Rachel Alejandro gave up her title as the defending champion since she needed to fly abroad for her other commitments. Alejandro was  the show’s first P1 million winner.

Before becoming the newest Singing Bee millionaire Wednesday night, the former child star defeated her co-contestant, fellow singer Bituin Escalante.

Seguerra joined the “Singing Bee” also to promote her latest album titled "Open Arms."

In interview during the show, Seguerra told host Cesar Montano “Open Arms” will be released either this month of August or September.  "Open Arms" is the follow-up to Seguerra's previous album, "Para Lang Sa 'Yo".

Seguerra made one of the most notable comebacks in Philippine showbiz when, after her acting career nosedived as she entered adulthood, she  made a name in music industry with her monster hit song "Pagdating ng Panahon"

Seguerra said her "Open Arms" album was produced by an international music firm from Singapore and will be released by ABS-CBN's music outfit Star Records.

Seguerra only had 17 days to record the10-track album, which features revivals of old hits such as "Open Arms," "Time After Time," "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," "At last," "Vincent," "Smooth Operator," "Home," "Journey," and "Longer."

Seguerra said that she will be flying to Singapore to promote her album right after her performance for the stage play "Avenue Q" ends.

Seguerra is a contract artist of Star Records but on a per album basis only.

Presently, Seguerra’s “Sa’yo Lamang” is the theme song of Kapamilya's hit Koreanovela "Romantic Princess."
