Dolphy's fans flock to Heritage Park

MANILA, Philippines - Friends and fans of the late movie and television icon Dolphy have started flocking to the Heritage Park in Taguig City to pay their respects to him.

Former First Lady Imelda Marcos visited the wake for a short while at past 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Sen. Lito Lapid, Dolphy's colleague in the move industry, came at past 10 in the morning.

"Noong araw, extra pa lang ako, kasama ko na 'yan eh," he said. "Idol ko siya. Napakabait niya lalong lalo na sa pamilya niya."

Public viewing of his remains started at 8:30 a.m., and since then, ordinary people have been entering the chapel continuously.

The Taguig Police deployed 20 of its personnel to guard the place.
