Team Sarah kids give 'near-perfect' performance
MANILA - A group of young hopefuls from the team of Sarah Geronimo gave a "near-perfect" performance during the episode of "The Voice Kids" aired on Saturday.
For the night's third Battles, Hannah Uganiza, Triscia Jumawid, and Diana Agustin performed the 1980's hit song of Dianne Reeves, "Better Days".
The three, dubbed as the "power belters" by Geronimo, were pitch-perfect from start to finish -- a feat that did not escape the ears of Broadway star and coach Lea Salonga.
"Napakahirap ng kanta na 'yan. And the three of you, ang galing talaga ng performance ninyo," she said.
Salonga then praised each one -- from the "sassiness" of Jumawid, to the perfect start that Uganiza gave the song, and to the accuracy of Agustin.
"Yung accuracy mo talaga with the adlibs, eksakto eh," she said, pointing to the eventual winner of the group. "Hindi sigaw and because I'm such a sucker for accuracy, I'm going to go with Diana."
For his part, coach Bamboo Manalac said: "You sounded beyond your age. Ang galing ninyo. Hannah, you have such a natural soulful, buttery tone to your voice. Triscia, you gave it a little swag."
"Diana, your voice just cuts through lang. Ikaw 'yung umaangat eh, ikaw 'yung lumalabas," he added.
Geronimo also praised each one from the group, starting with Jumawid, noting how she kept smiling despite the difficulty of the song.
"Hannah, inumpisahan mo ng perfect. Talagang eksakto lahat, 'yung dynamics, 'yung puso nandoon," she added.
But the Pop Princess eventually went with Agustin, whom she praised for hitting every note of the song.
