MANILA – Maja Salvador treated her supporters who watched her concert on Saturday with a medley of Jaya’s hit songs.
In a spiel, Salvador shared that she used to sing Jaya’s hits in videoke bars when she was younger.
“Dahil sa mga kanta niya, doon ako nagsimula maniwala na maganda 'yung boses ko kasi parang nagagaya ko yung boses niya,” she said in jest. “Sabi ko may chance ko. Hanggang sa nag-voice lessons nga ako at nakuha ko rin ang tamang timpla.”
In the middle of her performance, Salvador was surprised when Jaya, who was in the audience, suddenly went on stage to join her.
The two sang “Dahil Nga Ba Sa Kanya,” “Laging Naroon Ka” and “Wala na bang Pag-ibig.”
“I just want to say una sa lahat, ‘di ba kapag may nag-i-idol, normally matataas ang boses ng iniidolo? So lagi akong etsepwera doon. But tonight, it just made me feel so special because you chose me,” Jaya told Salvador.
“Gusto ko malaman mo na I’m so proud of you because it’s really hard to be on stage to sing. Tapos sold out? This is a special night for you. Ang daming fans ni Maja,” the veteran singer added.
Jaya, who is a GMA-7 talent, also couldn't help but notice that she was to be surrounded by a Kapamilya crowd.
“Ang sarap pala ng pakiramdam sa gitna ng crowd ng mga Kapamilya. Masaya, very warm. Maja congrats, I’m so proud of you,” she said.
