Robin Padilla declines offer to host Wowowee
MANILA, Philippines - Actor Robin Padilla has formally declined an offer from ABS-CBN for him to host the network's popular noontime show, Wowowee.
In a July 12 letter, Padilla cited his values and beliefs as reasons for his decision to turn down the offer.
"Mr. Robin Padilla formally notified ABS-CBN of his decision to decline the network's earlier offer for him to host its Wowowee noontime show. Mr. Padilla cited his values and beliefs as the reason for his decision," said Padilla's manager, Betchay Vidanes.
Wowowee's ratings improved when the popular action star hosted the noontime show.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN belied speculations Revillame will soon end his break and return to Wowowee.
"Ang mga lumalabas na bali-balita tungkol kay Willie Revillame at sa Wowowee ay mga espekulasyon. Nag-usap na ang ABS-CBN management at si Willie kung ano ang options o mga posibleng gagawin pagkatapos ng kanyang break.
"Wala pang napagkakasunduan ang ABS-CBN at si Willie. Kung mayroon mang pagbabagong magaganap, ito'y opisyal na ipahahayag ng ABS-CBN sa takdang panahon," said Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications. - report from Marie Lozano, ABS-CBN News
