MANILA, Philippines - A glamor model who lost a gig as a condom endorser allegedly because she was dragged into the rape rumor involving members of the the Philippine Azkals has come out in support of the national football team.

The model said she is proud of the team's achievements and wants the Azkals to bring more glory for the country.

She also said she wants the Philippine XI to beat Kuwait in their FIFA World Cup qualifying clash later this month.

"I have high regard for the team Azkals for bringing pride to our country and popularizing football," she said.

"I hope they win some more glory for our country," she added.

The model, a University of the Philippines graduate with a major in Physics, earlier cried foul after she was removed from her condom endorsement show that was organized by a men's magazine.

She believes that rumors about the alleged rape issue caused her pullout from the show.

"We've been rehearsing for days. I gave my heart to it. They pulled me out of the show, wala naman akong ginagawa to everyone," the model said.

On Thursday night, the model attended the show as part of the audience.

She said she watched the event to support her friends. "Gusto kong makita (ang) pinaghirapan namin kung ano ang resulta," she explained.

The model, who has sought legal help with regard to the rape rumor, declined to answer questions about the alleged incident.

She said she now wants to move on. "I just came from an audition nga. Life goes on," she said. - Report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
