Charice sings on ANC's 'Headstart'
MANILA, Philippines - International singing sensation Charice turned ANC's Headstart into a songfest Friday as the young singer obliged the audience with her live singing.
Charice is back in the country for the Asian leg of her worldwide tour, after which she will head back to Hollywood.
She also talked about her new gig on the hit US musical TV series, Glee.

"Nag-audition ako mga second week ng June. Sa LA ako nag-audition. Di ako nag-expect. Nasa Europe ako mga 2 o 3 weeks ago. Chineck ko 'yung Twitter ko. Dami, thousands nag-respond. Nakalagay po ulit 'Charice on Glee.' So sabi ko rumor na naman ito. After 30 minutes saka sila nag-e-mail [ng] congratulations," said Charice, who refused to divulge what song she sang for the audition.
"'Di ko puwedeng sabihin pero mostly ballads sa Glee."
She will portray the role of a Filipina exchange student on the show.
The 18-year-old pop icon also revealed she calls Oprah Winfrey her adviser and fairy godmother. It was Oprah, Charice said, who was responsible for her big break.
"Oprah sat down, [and said] 'I wanna help you. Tell me your story,'" she said.
"Binigay ko sa kanya yung dream journal ko. Drinowing ko po lahat ng dreams ko nung 12 years old ako. Isa isa niyang tinupad. First page noon, ako at si Andrea Boccelli. Tinupad niya 'yon. Tapos second page, ako at si Celine [Dion]. Tinawagan niya si Celine. Third page, ako tsaka si Mariah. Nagkita kami sa Las Vegas. Next page, ako tsaka si Whitney. Nagkita na kami. Maiyak-iyak talaga ako nun," said Charice.
"I think 'yung next page tuwang tuwa siya kasi ako yung tumupad para sa family ko. Nabigyan ko ng sariling bahay at sasakyan ang Mommy ko. Sobrang proud siya," she added.
But when asked about her relationship with her estranged father and the reported rift between her mom and maternal grandmother, Charice opted to remain mum.
"I'd rather not answer. No comment. 'Di na kailangang buksan pa uli. About my dad, past is past. OK na kami. My grandma, no comment," said Charice.
"Kahit na we're 3 in the family, masaya kami," said Charice.
Charice sang her Billboard hit, "Pyramid," to cap the rare interview. -- Report from ANC
