Gretchen, Claudine to unite in new ABS-CBN teleserye
MANILA - Real-life sisters Gretchen and Claudine Barretto will play sisters role in a new ABS-CBN teleserye.
"SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon" reported that Gretchen, who just came from United States, will be taping a comeback television series with her youngest sister Claudine.
"Magkapatid kami dito sa teleserye at excited na excited ako. It's my honor to be working, not with just my sister, but with good actors," Gretchen said.
Gretchen said Claudine’s presence in the cast would surely boost her acting and stamina to last the taping series.
She added that she's open to getting advice from Claudine, who is one of the country's award-winning actresses.
"Kakayanin ko ang taping basta si Claudine Barretto ang kasama ko. Kasi alam naman natin na si Claudine ay marami nang acting awards, so gusto ko ma-inspire at gusto kong matuto din from her," Gretchen said.
Gretchen, the eldest of the Barretto sisters, will leave the country again to accompany her daughter, Dominique, who will attend a theater camp in New York.

Yay for the Barretto sisters, boo for grammar
I find it intriguing and amusing when actors and musicians from the same lineage collaborate. A few good examples would be Lea and Gerard Salonga, the Eigenmann clan, and now, the Barretto sisters. I hope things work out for the best tho I think the last Claudine "teleserye" was a flop. (Good teleseryes tend to extend their season/runs but the last just didn't have the "oomph" factor from teleseryes of old).
Anyway, I'd like to point out a few mistakes that the editor of ABS-CBNNEWS.COM overlooked.
1. "Gretchen, who is known for being a controversial magnet..."
- it should be CONTROVERSY not controversial
2. "Gretchen, who is known for being a controversial magnet, said Claudine’s presence in the cast would surely boost
his acting and stamina to last the taping series."
- Since the speaker, GRETCHEN, is a girl, I think the right pronoun to use would be HER, not HIS.
3. "She added that she's open to getting advices from Claudine..."
- I think it would sound better if one used the singular form of advice. i.e. :...to getting advice from Claudine."
4. "...accompany her daughter Dominique who will attend..."
- I think it should be "...accompany her daughter, Dominique, who will attend..."
Journalists of the world...We need good grammar, goshdarnnit!

It's about time na magkaron na ulit ng teleserye si Claudine and good news na kasama pa si Ms. Gretchen. Pero isa lang ang mas magpapasaya sa akin!!!! To see MS. BING PIMENTEL back in ABS-CBN shows kagaya nun sa MAGING SINO KA MAN.... Please!!!!
