Piolo Pascual vows: I will end my career in ABS-CBN
MANILA - Kapamilya actor Piolo Pascual on Friday vowed that he will end his career in ABS-CBN.
During the press conference for his upcoming soap, "Hawak Kamay", Pascual said staying with ABS-CBN is the greatest gift that he could give to the network.
"I think ang pinakamagandang regalo na maibibigay ko sa ABS-CBN -- and you can quote me on this -- is that I started with ABS-CBN and I will end my career in ABS-CBN," he said.
In a previous interview, Pascual admitted that he planned on quitting showbiz, but everything changed after his film "Starting Over Again" with Toni Gonzaga became a huge hit.
He said that it was his son, Iñigo, who encouraged him to stay in show business.
"When the movie came out, 'yung 'Starting Over Again', and I was doing negotiations with my contract... ABS-CBN offered me a contract. I told my son, 'I want to quit so I can spend time with you before you turn 18, because when you turn 18 you will be on your own, you will be independent.' Sabi niya, 'I don't want you to quit yet because I still want to see you on TV.' Those were the considerations," he explained.
"Siguro medyo abrupt lang 'yung pagsabi ko ng quit, maybe because I've been working for too long already and hindi naman ako ganoon ka-greedy na tao... I want to enjoy my life, I'm still young. Feeling ko lang din na nawawalan na ako ng oras para sa sarili ko... Siguro time management lang."
Now, Pascual is excited to do the series "Hawak Kamay" with Iza Calzado, her other co-star in "Starting Over Again".
"I enjoy my craft... Basta lang po I will be able to manage my time better," he said.
