MANILA, Philippines – A month after admitting his relationship with actress-model Shaina Magdayao, hunk actor John Lloyd Cruz became more open about his new love.

In an interview on "The Buzz," Cruz said he felt free after revealing that he and Magdayao are now an item.

"We are okay, we are happy. We are very much content sa kung anuman ang ginagawa namin individually. Mas magaan, mas madali, mas nakakahinga ka. Very thankful na ‘yong kinailangan naming time ay binigay at nirespeto ng mga tao," Cruz said.

For the first time, Cruz also bared that he and Magdayao became a couple officially on April 14, 2010. Now in their third month, Cruz said that they are very happy together, and that they are trying their best to spend more time together amid their hectic schedule.

Just two weeks ago, Cruz ruled out the possibility of doing any movie or television project with his girlfriend.

Cruz said he is closing his doors to any project that will pair him with the young actress. The actor added that even if the project has a good storyline and it will be directed by an award-winning filmmaker, he still won’t accept it.

Cruz, who was crowned Box Office King for 3 consecutive years, stressed that he wants to keep his relationship with Magdayao private.

Magdayao, he said, also shares the same opinion.

"Parang hindi naman talaga kami well motivated. Kumbaga para sa isang bagay, parang not just for the sake of doing something because you are an item now, parang ayaw naming sumunod sa ganoon. Kumbaga mayroon kaming kanya kanyang ginagawa prior to our relationship and we'd like to keep it that way," Cruz said.
