MANILA, Philippines (CORRECTED) – “It” actor John Lloyd Cruz is wary of doing another movie with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo as fans might not warm up to the box-office tandem because of his new relationship.

"Without the fans, wala din naman kami. Pero malaking part din naman ng naging success ng mga projects ko is material-driven. Talaga namang maganda ‘yong pagkakagawa ng storya," he told “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon.”

Before admitting his relationship with actress Shaina Magdayao, Cruz had been the talk of the town for keeping a secret affair with beauty queen host Ruffa Gutierrez. Cruz recently admitted that he had a “very special relationship” with Gutierrez.

Also, the actor neither admitted nor denied reports that Geronimo backed out of another on-screen love team purportedly because of his relationship with Magdayao.

"Syempre hindi natin pwedeng iwan ang isang bagay kung merong ibang involved doon sa project. Kung ganoon, I think isang bagay siya na dapat i-take into consideration. Kasi ako naniniwala ako sa energy..." Cruz said.

The Box Office King and Queen starred in 2 movies under Star Cinema. “A Very Special Love” and its sequel, “You Changed My Life,” were both box-office hits when they were released.

Cruz was also all smiles when Geronimo noted that the last 2 projects were memorable for the pop star princess.

"Kung tutuusin, ‘yon ang mga hindi ko makakalimutan sa career. Malalim, malaki, at napaka-special ng ibig sabihin [ng mga movies sa akin] so I'm really happy na meron siyang nasabing ganoon," he said, smiling.
