MANILA, Philippines -- Controversial talent manager Annabelle Rama will face a new court case if she fails to attend another hearing for the libel charges filed against her by former actress Amalia Fuentes.

Fuentes on Wednesday warned that Rama may have to face a perjury case, should she fail to show up for a third time at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, where the feisty talent manager is facing libel cases filed by the former actress.

Rama on Wednesday failed to attend the hearing for the libel charges for a second time.

It can be recalled the controversial talent manager also did not attend the previous court hearing for the same case, allegedly due to sickness.

The talent manager, however, made an appearance at the QC RTC on Tuesday, a day before the scheduled hearing, to make a sworn manifestation before the fiscal-on-duty.

Not first no-show

This has prompted Fuentes to mull filing a perjury case against Rama -- which, if pursued, will be the latest in a pile of charges hurled at the talent manager.

Rama is also engaged in a legal battle with former actress Nadia Montenegro, stemming from the latter's allegations of child abuse against Rama in relation to the talent manager's way of handling her children's showbiz careers.

Montenegro also recently filed a motion for inhibition against QC RTC Branch 92 in connection with the 14 counts of libel she had filed against Rama.

It can be recalled that Montenegro, in June, expressed dismay over Branch 92's recall of an arrest warrant issued for Rama after she failed to attend a number of court hearings for the former actress' charges.

Rama is also facing a brewing legal feud with showbiz writer Chito Alcid after their controversial scuffle during the wake of the late film icon Dolphy.
