Robin Padilla denies P25-M talent fee
MANILA, Philippines – Actor star Robin Padilla on Thursday said there is no truth to rumors that his talent fee for “Pilipinas, Win na Win” is P25 million a month.
Padilla, one of the hosts of the upcoming noontime television program, said he accepted the project because he wants to bring happiness and fun to other people, and that it has nothing to do with money.
“Hindi ko tinanggap ang project dahil sa pera… Kung ganoon, sa iba na lang mapunta dahil pigain ninyo man ako, walang ganyang usapan,” he said.
“Pilipinas, Win na Win” will replace “Wowowee” on Saturday. “Wowowee’s” controversial main host Willie Revillame’s talent fee was reportedly P1 million per show or around P25 million a month.
Padilla also chose to ignore various intrigues that surfaced following the announcement of ABS-CBN that he will host “Pilipinas, Win na Win.”
When asked if he was able to talk to Revillame about the changes, Padilla said: “Siguro sa pagpapaalam, wala na dahil hindi naman ako bisita na sa programang ito. Pero pinupugay ko po si Ka Willie at sakaling magkita kami bakit naman hindi kami mag-uusap?”
Padilla started his rehearsals for the TV program on Thursday afternoon. He admitted that he was a bit nervous.
During rehearsal, he also practiced his special production number with Pinoy Rock icon Pepe Smith.
Meanwhile, “Pilipinas, Win na Win” business unit head Jay Montelibano confirmed that the newly renovated studio of “Wowowee” will be used for “Pilipinas, Win na Win” on Saturday.
Montelibano promised that they will have a lot of surprises on the show’s star-studded debut on Saturday.
Meanwhile, woman of the hour Kris Aquino is expected to show up during Friday’s rehearsals.
Aquino will arrive on Friday from the United States where she spent a 3-week vacation with her 2 sons. -Report from Ginger Conejero, ABS-CBN News

Let's do the math, a very conservative number of U.S. subscribers is 200,000. Lets say half opposes the cancellation equals 100,000. Now let's put that as a monetary value that ABS-CBN can understand.
100,000 x $12.00 = $1.200,000
$1,200,000 x 50 pesos/1 dollar= say 50,000,000 pesos a month.
Thats a lot of directors, managers, other employees that have to be laid off because of the decrease in revenue, 50 million pesos.

Yes...Willie made a lot of people happy but him spouting his mouth off was his own UNDOING. It should not be blamed on Jobert Sucaldito. Wowowee is now part of television history...if it's too soon then he has got nobody to blame but himself.

Nobody said that Jobert should be blamed for all the troubles but, to think about it if he didn't made that comment there will still be WOWOWEE...and remember it takes two to tango so, no one said that Willie will not be blame either so both parties should be accountable for there actions not just one side..
Mariel used to be a classy
Mariel used to be a classy and mellow lady and somehow she changed so drastically :-/ i'm talking about the way she carry herself on the show. She does not act like she is when Willie was there and suddenly Robin Padilla took over for a couple of weeks n he of course caught her charm and her personality changed :(
I like Pokwang although she over act sometimes but, all in all she has a real good sense of humor :)
Kris Aquino should not be in the showbiz period for the reason that her brother is only the President of the country and we ALL(for most people that follow) knows that she can keep a secret. And if anything that her brother has a secret agenda or a mission we never know she might blur it out to the public for she is the "Queen of Talk" show..
Valerie is just doing her best to be on the show..
Hope the show that will replace WOWOWEE will click but, to me it will not last...Good Luck!!

Willie Revillame made lots of filipinos ALL across the globe happy and he makes the show exciting and funny for the young and old he also recognized the contestants who has a talent than can make him/her big star in the future..
I am not an avid fan of Willie but, i recognized his willingness to help the needy and the poorest which is why lots of people has affection for him and no matter what he is behind the scene he made sure he delivered fun and happiness to ALL viewers at the show and the viewers.
I just hope this show that ABS-CBN replaces WOWOWEE will work out because i tell you WOWOWEE was indeed the number 1 noon time show, i even have my husband watching even though he doesn't understand it ;-)
Good Luck! to the new noon time show again, i hope it'll click...and btw, why Kris Aquino is on the showbiz again??!?? thought she's quitting the TV show for her brother's sake :-/ she has the mouth that she can't shut. I am also hoping that she will not get her brother in trouble whatever it is in the future.

I tell you it's really heartbreaking for WOWOWEE show to end :( It is truly a fun and happiness for filipinos ALL across the globe. Most filipinos subscribe to TFC because of "WOWOWEE" noon time show because i'm one of them.
The thing i don't understand is that why is only Willie Revillame is all to blame when this is all started by the DJ Jobert by making a "quote or rather "comment" about the contestants? and why ABS-CBN still letting him on the air? he should be fired or let him take a leave of absence.

Its time to show ABS-CBN who really is the boss. Viewership is what makes a show. The more popular the show, the more the viewers, subscribers and advertisers. In addition, ABS-CBN gets the lion's share of the revenue to subscribe for TFC from carriers like Comcast and U-verse. Guess what show worldwide is the top producer for ABS-CBN, WOWOWEE, and its because the viewers enjoy WILLIE's hosting.
Most subscribers, not all, particularly in the U.S. subscribe to TFC because of WOWOWEE and WILLIE. Based on the comments about the show's cancellation at least 50% if not more oppose the cancellation.
