MANILA, Philippines – Amid rumors of their break-up, Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, girlfriend of President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, on Sunday showed up at La Salle Green Hills in Mandaluyong City where a Mass was held for the first death anniversary of the President’s mom, Corazon Aquino.

Soledad was seen sitting next to Kris Aquino’s eldest son, Josh, before the Mass started. 

Speculations about Soledad,30, and 50-year-old Noynoy’s split up swirled after she failed to attend the President’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the House of Representatives on July 26.

Quoting Palace officials, The Philippine Star reported that Soledad had been invited but she could not make it due to her commitments as a councilor. The 2 also denied the rumors.

On Saturday Soledad dropped by at Noynoy’s residence on Times Street in Quezon City to bring him some cookies, the report also said.

Soledad and Noynoy have been together for more than a year now.

In her previous interview, Soledad said she and Noynoy are in a “deep commitment,” but she also admitted that Noynoy’s priority right now is his tasks as the country’s 15th President.

She also said she would wait for Noynoy, who was quoted as saying that marriage is still far from his mind.

“Siyempre ako I'm looking forward kasi when you're in a relationship you're looking forward long term. Since mahal mo you would support what he wants and what he needs… Let's see. Kasi hangga't mahal mo ang tao, maghihintay ka,” she said.
