CORY
WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU
We will never forget you
You know how much we love you
Day and night we’ll pray for you
That God bless you like the angels
How we wish we have the power
To keep you to stay longer
But even now that you’re gone
You’ll be in our hearts and our minds
It broke our hearts to lose you
So we pray and ask God
At the end of your journey
Eternal rest grant unto you.

CORY COJUANGCO AQUINO, you are a legend
A leader, loving and caring person, wife, and mother
The bespectacled, smiling woman in the yellow dress
You were beloved by your nation and admired by the world
On Feb. 25, 1986 was sworn as the Philippines' first female leader
You played a crucial role in Philippines history and democracy
Moving the country to democratic rule through non-violent "People Power"
Served as an inspiration and admired by the world for your extraordinary courage
Restored democracy and rule of law back to the Philippines
In many years of authoritarian rule and at a time of peril
With a faith in your country and your people that never wavered
Your courage, determination, and moral leadership were an inspiration
Your passing brought together the Filipino people and nation
Rich and poor, old and young, men and women, and fractious opposition
You will forever remain as the world’s beloved democracy icon
