MANILA, Philippines - New MYX VJ Robert Martin “Robin” Nievera, son of Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez, on Monday denied reports that his singer mom was forced to sell their family house in Ayala Alabang due to financial trouble.

During MYX’s press conference, Robin admitted that they sold the house not because of financial crisis but for “practical reason.”

"I don't think we have a hard time. I think we just moved because Skyway is a pain when you live all the way to Alabang and you work all the way here (Quezon City). So we are actually saving time. Practical reason. We are not low, We are not broke, we are not whatever. We are all okay. We are all fine. It's just that Skyway is a hassle. But I love the Sky. When it's done, it's gonna be a dream come true," Robin said.

Robin added that it took Fernandez years to find a good buyer.

Just recently, Fernandez held a garage sale to dispose of their old furniture. Reports said film producer Carlo J. Caparas and his wife, Dona Villa, were the ones who bought the house.

Robin also admitted that it was hard to leave and move to a new place since he grew up there.

"I know my mom was trying to sell that house for years and I'm just happy that we finally sold it. I'm sad that I've lived in the house for 15 something like that. But I lived there almost my life. That's the house I grew up in and that's the only reason I'm sad because it's not my house anymore," Robin said.

The 21-year-old musician bared that he, along with his younger brother Ram, is now living at The Fort minus their parents. He said they are trying their best to live independently.

"It's difficult because it's just me and Ram, but if I call my mom or dad they'll help me naman. They'll be there in a second, they'll help me with whatever I need so it isn’t that bad," he said.

Weight loss

Robin is also trying his best to loose weight. He said he already lost 30 lbs from 230 lbs.

"My ideal weight is 180 lbs. Hopefully, one day I can get the 180 just because I want to see how I look like with my ideal weight," Robin said.

The new MYX VJ also admitted that his parents had asked him to go on a diet, citing health reasons.

Is he willing to go under cosmetic surgery? "If I was much bigger and it called for like a life threatening, you-too-fat-you-gonna-loose-now, then that's when I would have use it. But diet first. If you really can't and you really wanna be thin like that bad, go for it. But I will say diet and gym first.”

Robin, along with Julz Savard and Ton Vergel de Dios, was proclaimed the winner of this year's search for MYX VJ last July 21. -Report by Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com
