MANILA, Philippines - Zanjoe Marudo gamely answered all the controversial questions about his rumored relationship with Cristine Reyes and the much talked about Mariel Rodriguez-Robin Padilla issue.

Marudo first talked about his very challenging “Maalaala Mo Kaya” role, wherein he plays a very deep and dark character whose parents were massacred when he was still a child. All his life, he wanted to do was to take revenge, but everything changed when he became a priest.

He is also excited about his upcoming Primetime Bida soap with Reyes, "Precious Hearts," which will debut this August 16.

Marudo said he and Reyes just work together. He also clarified that he's not courting her in real life, but they have good chemistry on screen and as a love team.

Marudo stressed he's enjoying his single life right now and that he's drowning himself with work. He's very thankful that projects continue to pour in as well as other blessings.

He said he's not looking for a girlfriend as of the moment.

As for Rodriguez, he has moved on from their break-up. He said he's happy that she, too, has moved on and is already being taken care of by someone else, obviously referring to Robin Padilla.

“Dapat akong matuwa na may nagmamahal sa kanya, naga-alaga sa kanya, nagkaroon ng magpapasaya. Masasaktan siguro ako kung mapapasama siya. Ang nangyari naman kay Mariel napabuti naman siya,” he said.

About Padilla’s public admission of his love for Rodriguez on “Entertainment Live” and the P1.2-million ring he gave Rodriguez, Marudo said he was taping all day and he did not see that episode.

He said he was on the set of MMK in Bulacan the whole Saturday. He said he didn't get any messages from friends and colleagues as well.

When asked about his reaction, he said he's okay with it as long as Rodriguez is happy. –With a report from The Buzz
