This was the response of actress Lovi Poe when quizzed on the status of her relationship with Kapamilya hunk Jake Cuenca.
Poe on Thursday categorically denied that she and Cuenca are dating, saying their respective professional engagements are taking most of their time.
"Jake is very close naman sa akin. Malapit talaga siya sa 'kin, [since he is] my neighbor. [But] we're not actually dating. Siya rin dalawa 'yung soap niya eh," Poe said during a press conference for Regal Film's upcoming horror film, "Guni-Guni."
"We're really close naman, but now is not the time for us, we're both busy. And someone as passionate as him sa work, ganun din naman sa 'kin, and we want to keep it that way," she added.
Cuenca currently topbills to Kapamilya TV series -- "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo," which airs in the afternoon; and "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan," which airs during ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
Rumors of a blooming romance between Poe and Cuenca spread when he invited her to the annual Star Magic Ball in 2011. In the months following the headline-hogging invite, Cuenca has kept mum on his supposed plans of "courting" the daughter of the late Fernando Poe, Jr.
Asked if she is open to having a relationship despite her busy schedule, Poe expressed hesitation: "If given the chance, why not. It's probably nice to have something steady lang. Pero wala eh, with work, parang mahirap rin mabigyan ng time, and it's basically hard to trust a man."
"At this point, I've been through a lot, rest muna ako sa side na 'yun," she added.
