Vice Ganda takes a stand on family planning
MANILA, Philippines – Amid the national debate over the passage of the controversial bill on reproductive health (RH), comedian-host Vice Ganda made known his stand on family planning on noontime variety program "It's Showtime."

Vice Ganda on Saturday expressed dismay over parents whose family size prove unmanageable in terms of providing a good standard of living for their children.
He challenged the oft-used adage, "Kahit mahirap, masaya, basta sama-sama" ("Despite being poor, we're happy, as long as we're together"), in light of married couples having a large family size, that would later become cause for their children to live in poverty.
Hindi," said Vice Ganda, who had also expressed disappointment in contestant-family for having "too many" children.
Vice urges couples: Control family size
The outspoken comedian also urged married couples to lend thought to controlling the size of their family -- an option that is among the main features of the proposed RH Bill.
The "Praybeyt Benjamin" star's impromptu tirade, he shared, stems from having witnessed the condition of families who were given temporary shelter at the Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon City. The church has served as an evacuation center for flood-hit residents after incessant rains drenched Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Poverty is among the issues aimed to be addressed by the RH Bill, which was recently placed in the pipeline for the period of amendments and a vote on 2nd reading.
