MANILA - ABS-CBN’s broadcast journalist Dyan Castillejo left for the Bahamas on Thursday to cover the "Miss Universe 2009" beauty pageant.

This is the second time that Castillejo, a sports beat reporter, will be covering the event. She said covering the pageant is much like sports coverage because "the candidates are just as competitive as sports athletes."

Castillejo has also been in touch with Miss Philippines contestant Pamela Bianca Manalo and will be keeping audiences up to date on  “Umagang Kay Ganda,” “TV Patrol World,” “Bandila,” and ANC.

ABS-CBN will air the Miss Universe 2009 live via satellite on August 24, Monday at 9:30 am with a primetime telecast on the same day on Velvet (SkyCable channel 53) at 8:00 pm.
