MANILA, Philippines -- The daughter of Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, who recently delivered his “turno on en contra” speech against the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill before the Senate, thanked those who supported her father on the divisive issue.

After coming to the defense of her father's stand on Tuesday, actress-singer Ciara Sotto thanked those "people who stand for life."
"To the ignorant fools, my dad was stating facts -- the side effects of contraceptives... but he is not stopping women from using it," Ciara said in a post on micro-blogging site Twitter on Wednesday.
"To the people who stand for life -- Thank you for showing your support and manners. May God continue blessing you and your families. Love you," she added.
After hinting at "blocking" a number of Twitter users who have made personal attacks against her and her family, Ciara also expressed admiration to those who engage in the debate with respect and "class."
"I have friends who don't agree with me and my father but they don't disrespect me. It's okay to agree to disagree. But show respect," she said.
"I follow so many friends and people who are pro-RH Bill and I love them to death. Maybe all my friends were born with CLASS," she added.
Ciara's online crusade supporting her father's stand comes after his emotional speech against the passage of the RH Bill.
The senator, in his speech on Monday, said it is his personal mission to block the passage of the controversial bill because his son died due to the side effects of contraceptives.
The senator became emotional as he blamed contraceptives for the medical condition of his son, Vincent Paul, who died five months after he was born in 1975.
