Charice: I didn't lie about Jackson invite
MANILA - International singing sensation Charice defended herself from critics who doubted her supposed invitation to Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” concert in London.
In an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com, Charice reiterated that it was Jackson’s lawyer who approached her and said that the late King of Pop wanted her to be part of his farewell concert.
She said it happened in a party hosted by Warner Bros. Other celebrities at the event were Toni Braxton and Michael Bublé.
Charice said: "Sinabi niya na napanood ako ni MJ sa YouTube at gusto po ako isama sa concert…. Right after that, umuwi ako ng Pilipinas. Wala akong sinasabi, 'iyong kay Celine Dion lang. Hindi ako nagsalita."
The singer said people might have “misinterpreted” it because she only made the pronouncement after she heard about Jackson’s demise in June.
Charice also divulged that she was even set to perform at the public memorial service for Jackson but she arrived late at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
"Ginanap iyong memorial wala po ako doon. Pagdating ko po doon parang patapos na sila. Pero talaga po kung doon ako unang napunta, o kung naabutan ko talaga, kasama po ako doon sa tribute kay Sir Michael. Pero late na po akong dumating," she said.
She said she was initially scheduled to record a song dedicated to Jackson. Composed by popular songwriter Diane Warren, it was a duet with "Britain's Got Talent" star Shaheen Jafargholi, she said.
The song was supposed to be included in her first international album but her producer, renowned American composer David Foster, scrapped the idea.
"Debut album [kasi] siya. Dapat masaya. Kaya by second album na lang po siya maaring maisama," Charice said.
In 1995, reports said Jackson and Foster had once collaborated in the King of Pop’s “HIStory” album. Foster reportedly became close to the Jackson family after the composer hit it big in the international music industry. -Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com

Kung hindi kapanipaniwala ang mga sinasabi ni Charice, ito ay dahil sa mga nakikita niya at natututunan sa mga matatanda. Ang pangulo ng bansa numero unong sinungaling, ang mga taga-pagsalita ng pangulo ay puro sinungaling kaya ano pa ang maasahan natin sa mga kabataan kung hindi ang magsinungaling. The people in the government at bad example to the young people of today dahil sa kanilang mga kasinungalingan. Huwag na nating sisihin at batikusin si Charice dahil natutunan lang niya iyan sa mga matatandang nasa pamahalaan na ginagawang huwaran ng kabataan.

Always late???
She was late for the Public Viewing of the late President Cory. She said she was supposed to sing the day (mass) before but she was out of town. Then on the last day (hours before the funeral) she came in late again and missed the public viewing. Now she is saying she just came in late AGAIN for Michael Jackson's funeral... what is wrong with this girl? She always claim to have missed important events because she was late. One comment here is correct - if she was indeed part of Micheal's services, then why was her name not included in the program. If she was part of it and she was just "late" like she claims, then her name would still be part of it. I hope she is not lying but if she is, I hope someone busts her on it so she'll learn her lesson. That might keep her grounded. Peace

MJ's memorial was organized and the guest list was announced days before. why would they not include charice's name on the announcement? also, they printed out a program and charice's name is nowhere..and then she said na late siyang dumating kaya di sya nakasama sa nag-tribute? pleaaaseee, obviously nagyayabang na naman ang batang eto, like always. it's one of the biggest event and if you're an upcoming artist, like charice still is in the us, di dapat pinapalampas eto..kahit saang sulok ka pa ng mundo galing if you are invited to perform, you have to be there on time (kung imbitado talaga sya)...kaya di sya sisikat sa states dahil nauunahan ng yabang...

Charice I was so shocked knowing that you were late on that particular once in a lifetime opportunity. Saan ka ba nagmula? Sayang.
You know what? ayaw na ayaw ng mga Haole ang ganyan. You should be punctual always even an hour ahead. Pls do not apply our "Filipino Time" in the states bec. if you do, then it's your downfall. It's big deal on them esp Business matters.
You should have been singing for the billions ears worldwide thru that particular occasion. Hay Naku! Now i can say that i'm not proud to hear that news (late) being a Filipino!

Let's just appreciate all the good things that is happening with Charice's career. She gives our country the honor to be known talent wise. Maybe, she just want to suprise everyone but unfortunately, we can't predict the future. We should be proud that we, Filipino's can colaborate with great and legend artist.
