MANILA, Philippines - Filipino actor-model Enchong Dee was rushed to hospital last Sunday after falling ill with dengue.

Dee said he was hospitalized due to high fever right after appearing in ABS-CBN's weekly variety show "ASAP" Sunday afternoon.

"On my second night, na-confirm I was positive for dengue. I am getting better now. Hopefully, I will be discharged soon so I could get back to work," he said.

Dee said it was the second time that he contracted the illness "so mas binabantayan nila condition ko ngayon."

He told fans that there was nothing to worry about since he was well on his way to recovery. "Thank you for all those who sent gifts and messages while I was in the hospital," he said in a text message.

Dee is part of the cast of ABS-CBN primetime teleserye "Magkaribal" and is currently shooting the movie "Sa 'Yo Lamang" under ABS-CBN's Star Cinema.

Other celebrities who have been afflicted with dengue recently are Derek Ramsay and John Pratts.
