MANILA, Philippines - The management of TV5 has denied rumors that entertainer Willie Revillame will be doing the show "Wowowee" on TV5.

On Wednesday, Peachy Guioguio of TV5's Corporate Communications office, said: "TV5 denies reports confirming that Willie is all set to do Wowowee on TV5."

The network, however, did not say whether Revillame will be moving to TV5 to do another show. 

Leonard de Vera, Revillame's lawyer, said he has yet to see a contract from Channel 5 for his client.

He added, however, that any contract pertaining to Willie's entertainment career will pass through Revillame's advisers.

Various Internet sites have reported that Revillame is transferring to TV5 after he announced his decision to leave ABS-CBN despite existing contract obligations with the Kapamilya network.

The reports said Revillame and his new manager, Vic del Rosario, forged a deal with TV5 management for a new daily noontime show starting October this year.

Last Sunday, Revillame told TV5's Cristy Fermin that he offered his former "Wowowee" staff a pay hike if they join him in his new show.

The controversial host earlier said he wanted out of his ABS-CBN contract after the network decided to scrap "Wowowee" and replace it with a new variety show. He also declined to host a new weekly television program on Channel 2 and a possible TV show at Studio 23.

He also said he is ready to face ABS-CBN in court. "Hangga’t hindi ako nai-injunction pwede naman daw akong lumabas sabi ng mga abogado ko," he said.

ABS-CBN Corp. has said it would not release Revillame from his contract obligations with the company. 

In a statement, Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications, reiterated the network’s previous stance that it is holding Revillame to his contract obligations until the agreement expires in September 2011.

He maintained that as an “aggrieved party,” ABS-CBN is the only one, not Revillame, that can decide whether to end the contract.

“He violated the behavioral provisions of his contract when he threatened the ABS-CBN management during the May 4, 2010 episode of Wowowee, with a resignation if management does not fire another artist of the network. His behavior was generally seen as a display of disrespect and arrogance, completely unacceptable to the Filipino public,” Osorio said.
 
“As the one who violated his contract, Willie has no right to have it unilaterally invalidated…. The one who violates the contract cannot be allowed to dictate whether it should continue or end. Otherwise, contracts will have no value and may be terminated based on whim,” Osorio added.
