Celebrities show support for Zsa Zsa
MANILA, Philippines -- Celebrities on Sunday showed their support for colleague Zsa Zsa Padilla after it was reported that the singer-actress was diagnosed with stage one cancer in the kidneys.
"Zsa Zsa and I had long text conversation Friday night. She explained to me in detail the findings and the medical procedure she'll undergo Aug. 27," host and actress Kris Aquino said on her official Twitter account.
"I admire Zsa Zsa's courage, strength and faith. Actually if youu recall the pic we posted last Saturday, Aug. 11, we had just come from Mass and prayed together for her checkup. I thank God that her condition was detected early and I know that with all of us praying for her, Zsa Zsa will be at her best health when she gets back to the Philippines in September," Aquino added.
Actress Sharon Cuneta also asked her Twitter followers to pray for Padilla, as well as for herself.
"Please, tweeties, please pray for Zsa Zsa's healing. I have been dealing with so much and I feel like this is the last straw," Cuneta said.
"Please pray for me too. I am only human, and I ask for forgiveness from the Lord but my faith is wavering. There is just so much going on now that I wish I could fly out and be with Zsa tonight, and then just leave. If I could quit all kinds of work now and be alone, I would not even give it a second thought. So tired. I feel like I've been taking such a beating in all in all areas of my life, and I haven't done anything to deserve it," Cuneta added.
Gary Valenciano's wife, talent manager Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, also praised Padilla for staying strong.
"My dear sis Zsa Zsa Padilla is so inspiring. She and I were texting while 'ASAP' was on. She feels blessed that she is alive," Pangilinan-Valenciano, adding that Padilla is "one strong woman."
She also shared a quote from the Bible for the singer. "For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose."
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez, host Bianca Gonzalez and actress Desiree del Valle all asked their Twitter followers to pray for Padilla.
