MANILA – Actor-politician Jolo Revilla admitted for the first time that he and “Be Careful with My Heart” star Jodi Sta. Maria were already a couple since his stint in the defunct ABS-CBN series “My Binondo Girl.”

Revilla, now the vice governor of Cavite, made the admission as he toured his “My Binondo Girl” co-star Kim Chiu and television host Kris Aquino around the province for an episode of the lifestyle show “Kris TV.”

Chiu noted that Revilla had to leave “My Binondo Girl” in October 2011 due to health reasons.

Aquino then asked Chiu: “Taken na siya (Revilla) noon, ‘di ba?”

The actress replied, saying, “Oo.”

Revilla, for his part, said: “Oo meron na… Ngayon pa lang umaamin.”

In early 2011, Revilla and his father, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., denied rumors claiming that the young actor and Sta. Maria are already a couple. The actor-politician stressed at the time that he and Sta. Maria are just friends.

Sta. Maria broke up with husband Pampi Lacson in March 2011, months before "My Binondo Girl" premiered in August that same year. Sta. Maria and Lacson were married in 2005 and have one son.

Revilla won against Lacson's brother in the 2013 polls.

Eat, travel

Revilla described his relationship with Sta. Maria as “smooth,” with the actor-politician thanking all those who have supported them as a couple.

“Siyempre, alam natin kung gaano kalakas ‘yung show niya, ‘yung ‘Be Careful with My Heart.’ At least hindi naaapektuhan ‘yung relationship namin,” he said.

He said Sta. Maria always “makes time” for him, adding that they make an effort to bond over food and travel.

“Ganito kaaga, naghahanap na siya ng pwede naming ipamigay for Christmas,” said Revilla, who shared that Sta. Maria occasionally prepares meals for him and his family.

Asked about the places that the couple have visited with their respective kids, he said: “Hong Kong, Bangkok, marami na rin kaming napuntahan. [Pati] Malaysia.”
