MANILA, Philippines -- The members of the girl group A.K.A. Jam, who were eliminated from "The X Factor Philippines" last Sunday, admitted that they didn't expect their mentor Gary Valenciano to vote against them on the talent competition.

"Actually hindi po namin ini-expect kami ni Tito Gary kasi sobrang na-feel namin na supportive siya sa group namin and also with the other groups. Pero since pareho kaming nasa group category ng Daddy's Home, naiintintidahan po namin yon," group member Alyssa Quijano said on "Umagang Kay Ganda" on Wednesday.

"So kung ano po 'yung naging desisyon ni Sir Gary, sobrang tinanggap namin at naiintindihan namin siya," she added.

Last Sunday, the six girls of A.K.A. Jam found themselves at the bottom two with Daddy's Home after receiving the lowest number of votes from the viewers.

Judges Martin Nievera and Charice voted to boot out Daddy's Home, while Pilita Corrales picked A.K.A. Jam. Valenciano then cast his vote to eliminate A.K.A. Jam, resulting in a deadlock in the judges' votes.

Under X Factor rules, if the four judges' votes are deadlocked, the contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated. Since A.K.A. Jam received only 4.42% of the votes compared to 5.53% for Daddy's Home, the girls were sent packing.

But Quijano said they are still thankful to Valenciano for being a good mentor.

"Actually sabi niya para siyang namili between sa dalawa  niyang anak. Pero marami po kaming natutunan kay Sir Gary at very thankful po kami na naging mentor namin siya," Quijano said.

Other members of the group are Ashley Campbell, Jhelsea Maine Flores , Katrina Velarde, Monique Lualhati, and Auriette Divina.

Reunited

Even if they have ended their journey on "X Factor Philippines," the girls said they will always treasure their experiences in the show.

For instance, Campbell said she has reunited with her father from Louisiana because of the show. She previously said that her main reason in joining the show is to meet her long-lost father.

"Napakalaking tulong po ng 'X Factor.' Kahit po hindi kami nanalo ay parang panalo na din kami at ang daming natulong sa amin at ang daming opportunities na dumarating sa amin," Campbell said.
