Chin Chin, Gabby impressed by 3 young co-stars
MANILA – Veteran stars Chin Chin Gutierrez and Gabby Concepcion were all praises for their younger co-actors in the latest ABS-CBN primetime series “Dahil May Isang Ikaw.”
Gutierrez described Jericho Rosales, Sid Lucero and Karylle as “very creative” who have their own ways of “attacking” their roles.
“I haven’t work with Sid in a scene per se but I’ve seen him work in the set. Mapusok talaga. He’s like a volcano when he enters the role. Echo (Rosales) is all over the place and then he just focuses and captures you. Karylle is just wonderful to share a scene with. Hindi ka bibitiwan,” Gutierrez said in an interview on “The Buzz” Sunday.
On the other hand, except for Lorna Tolentino, this is the first that Concepcion would be working with the rest of the “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” cast. He said it is nice to be acting alongside “brilliant actors” like Rosales, Lucero and Karylle.
As for the “chemistry” between him and Tolentino, Concepcion said: “The magic comes out when we are already shooting.”
Most challenging
To date, Karylle said her role in the upcoming drama series is the most challenging. The actress shared that she has to undergo a series of workshops before the actual taping.
Karylle said the workshops helped her face and resolve her “issues” as an actress.
“Talagang umiyak pa ako kasi hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko,” she said.
She said she was grateful that Rosales was there to give her encouragement.
Rosales chimed in: “Pagdating doon sa role [niya]. sabi ko lang talaga sa kanya, ‘basta truthful ka lang doon sa role mo kayang kaya.”
For Lucero, meanwhile, he was first intimidated by his co-actors like Concepcion, Tolentino and Gutierrez. He, however, quickly overcame it after he discovered “how generous they are with their work.”
“It’s just so inspiring. Ang sarap lang talagang [ka-trabaho sila]… wow, this is my job. Ito na ba [ang] trabaho ko? I’m having fun,” he said.
The pilot episode of “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” will be aired Monday night after “Tayong Dalawa.”
