Cayzer through to round 2 on 'X Factor' Australia
MANILA, Philippines -- Former ABS-CBN talent, musician Chris Cayzer, made it to round two of bootcamp on "The X Factor Australia," which was aired on Monday night.
Unlike the full treatment he received during the auditions, where judge Mel B gave him a standing ovation for his rendition of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles," Cayzer had a shorter screentime on Monday's episode.
But the former Spice Girl was still clearly on Cayzer's side.
"I like him. I like Christopher," Mel B said.
Cayzer joined 74 other "X Factor" hopefuls in the second round.
Monday's episode also showed Cayzer singing in round two, which had the contestants performing in groups. Cayzer's group sang "You Get What You Give" by New Radicals.
Judge Guy Sebastian, who was the only one who didn't vote for Cayzer during the auditions, again said the Filipino-Australian doesn't have the X factor.
The results of the second round will be aired tomorrow.
Cayzer now lives in Brisbane after spending six years in the Philippines, where he released two albums. His self-titled debut was produced by Nugen Music, a sub-label of Star Records.
He also appeared in "ASAP" and had a role in the Star Cinema movie "Close to You."
The singer-actor said he returned to Australia to be close to his family.
On Twitter, Cayzer's fans congratulated him for making it to the next round.
"Congratulations on getting through to day 2! Me and my entire family are hoping and praying you get through again ! Go CHRIS," tweeted @jason_pinoy.
