MANILA, Philippines - After 4 years away from the local scene, theater actress Monique Wilson topbills the controversial play "My Name is Rachel Corrie" at the Music Museum tonight.

Corrie was a 23-year-old American peace advocate who was bulldozed to death in 2003 while protecting the home of a Palestinian family from demolition.

The play was withdrawn from its scheduled run in New York in 2006 due to perceived anti-Israeli or anti-Jew sentiments but Wilson clarified there is nothing political about the work which speaks more about non-violence.

"My Name is Rachel Corrie" had a critically acclaimed run in London West End in 2005.

It was cited for best new play, best director and best solo performance by the Theatregoers' Choice Awards.

The Asian production is produced by Wilson's New Voice Company and megged by Rito Asilo.

Wilson considers the play as another good break from her musical theater background and proof that she can do much more onstage.
