Chiz, Heart to wed in Balesin on Feb. 15
MANILA – One week after their much-publicized engagement, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero revealed that he and Heart Evangelista have already set the date for their much-awaited wedding.
According to an article published by The Philippine Star on its website Thursday, the celebrity couple will get married on February 15 next year -- and not on February 14, which is also Evangelista's birthday.
The newspaper said the wedding will be held at the Balesin Island Club in Quezon, and it will be attended by the couple’s family and closest friends.
“On our wedding day on Feb. 15, we plan to invite only about 100 people,” Escudero said. “We don’t want to have a circus-like wedding with so many people around.”
The senator said they will hold another celebration in Manila the following day to accommodate their friends from politics and showbiz.
This report comes amid the controversy that the couple allegedly caused the “bumping off” of Cesca Litton and Tyke Kalaw’s wedding on Valentine’s Day at the exclusive island resort.
Escudero and Evangelista have already clarified that they have nothing to do with the supposed "bumping off" of a planned wedding in Balesin.
Meanwhile, Escudero denied speculations that he will be using his wedding to boost his chances of winning in the 2016 elections.
“How could that be when I ran and won in my Senate re-election in May last year without Heart, already my girlfriend at that time, ever helping me in my campaign?” he said.
When asked if his children with former wife Christine Flores are already prepared to welcome Evangelista in their family, Escudero said: “Before we got engaged, I asked my twins about their Tita Heart becoming their mother soon and they both said yes. Chesi even told me she is lucky to have two mothers.”
