Martin Nievera finds bashers necessary
MANILA -- Here's one celebrity who actually welcomes bashers, especially on social media.
For veteran singer Martin Nievera, celebrities also need bashers, if only to get feedback.
"Sa panahon ko, noong '80s, walang mga bashers. We had 'yung mga bad articles, bad reviews. Ngayon, 'yung mga bashers, may immediate response, negative or positive, and we need them both," Nievera said in an interview on "Umagang Kay Ganda" on Tuesday.
"Pag dating sa social networks, I would like to answer them. So kung bastos ka sa akin, bastos din ako sa iyo, parang ganoon," Nievera added. "You have to make the system work."
Just recently, Nievera received negative reactions from wearing jeans at the recent Star Magic Ball and also for his photo shoot for his anniversary concert this week.
Martin explained he was just following his stylist.
"Ang uso ngayon ay Jail Jeans na skin tight that's from (Filipino designer) Chris Jasler. He does the clothes of Boy Abunda. I'm just tying to look like Boy Abunda," Nievera quipped.
Nievera is currently promoting his 30th anniversary concert "3D Tatlong Dekada," which will be held on Friday at Araneta Coliseum. The singer will be backed up by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra.
