MANILA - Cristine Reyes proved she's not only a sexy star but is also a serious actress after she was nominated in this year's Seoul International Drama Awards.

Reyes was nominated for her role in ABS-CBN's defunct hit series, "Eva Fonda."

"Hindi ako makapaniwala. Noong una, parang sabi ko 'Sigurado ba kayo?' Tapos noong nalaman ko na pupunta pa [sa Korea], [sabi ko] 'Sige fight.' First time ko kasi sa Korea, so gusto kong mamasyal doon ng mag-isa," Reyes told "SNN:Showbiz News Ngayon."

Aside from Reyes' nomination for best actress, "Eva Fonda" is also nominated in the Special Prize Category.

Reyes and "Eva Fonda," whose nominations were recognized by the Seoul International Drama Awards, will compete with other nominees from Asia and Europe.

On Thursday (Sept. 10), Reyes and ABS-CBN Entertainment Head Linggit Tan went to Korea to attend the awards night, which will be held at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, September 11.

With her nomination, will Reyes still be accepting sexy roles?

"Part na ito ng career ko, so hindi ko siguro siya [sexy roles] maiiwanan. But at the same time, maganda ding tumanggap ng iba't ibang klaseng roles, hindi lang puro pagpapa-seksi," she said.

Aside from taping for ABS-CBN's "Your Song Presents: Babalik Kang Muli," Reyes is also shooting a movie, "Patient X," with actor Richard Gutierrez.
