Vilmanians to come home just for 'In My Life'

Vilmanians never say die.

They will once again pull their acts together and show how much they love and support their idol when “In My Life,” a Star Cinema production top-billed by Vilma Santos, premieres in Batangas City on Monday.

The Batangas premiere comes with a twist.

Instead of just a movie premiere at SM Batangas City, the occasion will also be for a cause.

Batangas Governor Santos-Recto has reportedly requested Star Cinema to hold an initial cinema presentation on her turf to raise funds for an Alay-Lakad project and a series of treats for street children.

As early eight in the morning, the Vilma Santos Solid International (VSSI), an umbrella organization of all Vilma Santos fans clubs, headed by its president, Jojo Lim, will travel all the way from Manila to the Batangas Provincial Capitol for their socio-civic activities.

Lim, an all-time Vilmanian, said Thursday night that Santos will lead the donation of computer sets on Monday to a still unidentified public school in Batangas City. It is a charity project initiated by the VSSI.

May nauna nang anim,” he said.

Handley will also be around to assist her favorite Star for All Seasons in distributing the computers, and also watch the movie in the evening.

A handful of well-off Vilmanians abroad will come home to join their other colleagues in support of Vi.

Julie Huggland, a Filipina who’s married to a Swedish based in Europe, will be around just to show her never-ending adoration of Vilma.

Vilmanians coming home

Josie Cohen, who’s in Amsterdam, as well as Jeannie Wong, who’s based in Los Angeles, and Ronald Garcia, a Vilmanian from Dubai, will also be coming to the event.

A Vilmanian priest, Fr. Juancho de Leon, will also be coming from the US to witness another highlight of Santos’ movie career.

Kahit saan na kami, we get in touch just to reach out to Vilma’s constituents in Batangas,” Lim said.

They will also be part of the premieres of “In My Life” in Trinoma, and in SM Megamall on Tuesday.

According to Lim, they also plan to book, together with the fans of John Lloyd Cruz and the Luisters, Lucky Manzano’s followers, a theater for a special screening of the movie.

I learned that Vi will go to Canada, Los Angeles and New Jersey when her film is screened those places,” Lim said.
