Piolo supports KC’s cause
MANILA - Hunk actor Piolo Pascual is willing to help KC Concepcion in her fight to end hunger in the country particularly in Mindanao.
Concepcion, daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, is the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) national ambassador against hunger.
Pascual said he would like to help “in anyway I can” and get involved in the advocacy of her “Lovers in Paris” leading lady. He even volunteered to escort Concepcion in the troubled Mindanao and help underprivileged children there.
He said he is not afraid to go to the southern part of the Philippines despite the security risks.
"Hindi [ako natatakot]. Pilipinas ito, Filipino ako, bakit ako matatakot? Kababayan natin ang mga iyan. Ako naman as long as I can be of help, isasantabi mo ang takot basta makatulong ka. Or share your blessings at maka-encourage ka ng ibang tao," Pascual said.
Pascual himself is also active in charity works.
He is one of the founders of the Hebreo Foundation that sends poor but deserving children to schools. He said he is able to share his blessings through the foundation.
"It's my one way of sharing my blessing. Ako kasi I get gifts from people. I told them, ‘If you want to give me gifts, just help the foundation. At least, hindi ako ang natutulungan mo, kundi ang ibang tao.’ At least, nakakatulong pa sila sa ibang tao na nangangailangan ng tulong," he said.
For the philanthropist actor, helping poor people in his own small way is already a big achievement in itself. –Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com
