MANILA – Ruffa Gutierrez sees nothing wrong with holding a private screening of John Lloyd Cruz’s latest film project, “In My Life.”

Gutierrez, who has been rumored to be dating Cruz, said she doesn’t know why people are making a big fuss out of it. She said she did the same thing when Hollywood film “Sex and the City” was shown in the country.

“Wala naman sigurong masama. Kasi ever since naman talaga iyong mga friends ko gustong manood ng ‘In My Life.’ Inaabangan nila. So, 20 kami kasama family namin. So, talagang dumami ng dumami,” she said.

“It’s not a big deal. Kaibigan ko naman silang lahat. Siyempre, kaibigan ko rin si John Lloyd so walang masama,” she added.

Cruz was even invited to attend the screening but he was unable to go because of schedule constraints.

The actor said he is grateful that Gutierrez, a former co-star in ABS-CBN's defunct hit television series "I Love Betty La Fea", helped him promote the movie.

"Talagang tinatanaw ko na malaking utang na loob na may mga kaibigan ako na nagpapakita ng ganitong kalaking effort in trying to help me promote my movie. Alam mo, bihirang makahanap ng ganyang kaibigan," he said.

"In My Life," Star Cinema's grandest offering this year, earned a record P20 million in ticket sales on its first screening date on September 16.
