Annabelle scores; Asistio charged with perjury
MANILA, Philippines – The Office of the City Prosecutor of Pasig found sufficient evidence to charge the daughter of actress Nadia Montenegro in violation of Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code.
Talent manager Annabelle Rama filed the perjury charge against Montenegro’s daughter, actress Ynna Asistio, early this year.
The case stems from Rama's allegations that the young actress made changes in her formal request seeking the rescission of her contract with the feisty talent manager, who previously handled Asistio's career in showbiz.
The original and amended versions of Asistio's rescission case allegedly had difference in facts, despite both being verified and notarized, according to Rama and her legal counsel.
In February, Rama also filed a libel case against Asistio and columnist Janice Navida for linking her to prostitution.
Rama said her filing of libel and perjury cases against Asistio are only the "start," and will be followed by more formal complaints against her and her mother.
The Metropolitan Trial Court of Pasig City recommeded P6,000 bail.
